What to wear on New Year’s Eve: ideas and advices to be stylish

by Opificio / Thursday, 12 December 2019 / Published in Blog

The most recurrent question in December is: What should I wear on New Year’s Eve or during festivities? Gold to represent wealth, red to wish ourselves the best in the New Year. Festivities’ colors are a classic. Red is an iconic color: we wear red garments and use red decorations, but why red color and not another one? If Santa Claus’ dress is red (with white details that recall snow) it is due to an ancestral symbol like fire, source of life and sustenance. The day we celebrate Christmas was bound to a pagan tradition, in which the vital power of the fire was recalled at the beginning of winter.

Latin tradition teaches us that red color, like gold, was for Romans a symbol of power and it was shown off in official events. Also the oriental culture contributed to make red color a must have on New Year’s Eve: the sparkling Chinese New Year is full of red shades, because it is considered a good omen color.

So, for the New Year’s Eve 2019, let’s wear red, considered a trendy color according to fashion trends 2019-2020. However, bright red is a demanding color that many women don’t even dare to wear, not even for New Year’s Eve glamour atmosphere. Don’t lose hope, OPI[MO] comes to the aid of all those women who don’t want to give up at a stylish look.

Red on New Year’s Eve 2019, how dress it during festivities

Careful to fashion trends, OPI[MO] created the autumn winter 2019-2020 collection following what women are looking in clothes: skirts, dresses and trousers that can be worn in different occasions and that are really worth their price for their quality and long lasting features.

For this reason, in this OPI[MO] collection there is the perfect red blouse for the party look, equally suitable for the office, or there is the “open front” dress (perfect to hide wide hips) that thanks to the balloon shape is very feminine and can be matched with different accessories. An example? You can wear a mock turtleneck under it to go to office, then transform it with a stole that recalls red details and high heel to join stylishly your friends at New Year’s Eve dinner.

What to wear on New Year’s Eve: suggestions

OPI[MO] dresses have always more than one life. New Year will seem to open a better future wearing a dress produced from a company like OPI[MO], that differentiates each type of waste. Dresses, tailleur and skirts created in the atelier in Modena have minimal impact on the environment. Furthermore, OPI[MO] has decided to give a “second chance” to scrap fabrics, giving them to school and kindergarten to create fun and creative project.
What to wear on New Year’s Eve or during festivities won’t be anymore a problem with OPI[MO].
