If a dress is worth, it becomes part of your inheritance

by Opificio / Tuesday, 28 January 2020 / Published in Blog
Se un abito vale, diventa parte dell’eredità

We all did it: fashion proposes periodically some trends – low waist trousers, miniskirts, oversize sweater or laces – and mum’s or aunt’s dress, remained for years in the wardrobe, becomes suddenly the garment that makes you look great at dinner with your colleagues or it makes us feel again a little bit child.

Quotes and returns on catwalks aren’t the only reasons why a garment remains beautiful and valuable over time. On one side there are dresses, skirts, shirts or pants that never become out of fashion. An example? The black sheath dress is the passe-partout garment that you stop using only because, unfortunately, your size has changed, not because fashion has changed. Just take a look at the OPI[MO] blue sheath dress with rust and wisteria touches which has a boat neck, slightly deeper on the front, and you will fall in love with it, considering it as a totem in the range of our wardrobe.

On the other side what makes a tailleur, a coat or a jacket a valuable object to bequeath is its quality. Fabric is very important because only high quality materials guarantee that frequent washing and use don’t ruin garment’s aspect.

Take for example the high waist black trousers from OPI[MO] Fall/Winter collection: they are a must have in your wardrobe because you can match them with a sparkling top or with a deep neckline blouse to have the perfect outfit for an important dinner.
OPI[MO] stands out especially for the details, like the silk gros grain bow. Thanks to the precious material, this detail guarantees the endurance of the garment after many uses. One more thing, the large wearability is a safety net in case of weight gain…

Bequeath quality to our children

When you think at something to bequeath from mother to daughter, something valuable, you think at an object in which you have invested not only your time, but especially your money. Unfortunately, pay a lot of money for a coat or a dress is not sufficient to guarantee you that you bought a quality garment. Bad seams, finishing elements (like buttons and trims) mismatched to the fabric or a low quality thread are elements that are hardly taken into consideration during our shopping as we usually focus on color or on style.

This is the reason why it’s better to trust in the artisan know-how of brand like OPI[MO]. This makes the difference. Gloria Trevisani and her staff follow every step of the production, from pattern creation to details decision. They just don’t look for nice elements, they select those important ones for the quality of the garments. Clothing to be worn season by season, year after year. Play with them creating new matches and new looks beyond generations. As Coco Chanel said, “Fashion fades. Only style remains the same”. And OPI[MO] focuses especially on style.
